The penultimate day. 30 days of walking leading to tomorrow and out arrival in Santiago. It's been an emotional journey but when we finish today we will know we will be in sight of that end goal and come what may we will hit it.

The weather is meant to be up and down today and it's around the 24km mark so we want to take it steady. No major rush today so we got up and packed back on our usual schedule leaving around 7.30.

We walked along steadily and chatted at length about Nik growing up and early years in the army. It was great spending the time talking about these things, like reminiscing on old holidays and time spent together as I was growing up.

The landscape has offered little variation over the last few days, whilst it is a lovely track through the woods for the most part, compared to what we have covered in the last month it was not remarkable, no matter how enjoyable it was. One advantage to this though is we aren't always stopping to admire old buildings or amazing panoramas, so instead we march side by side, sharing the moment. We did however finally see some wild deer having looked out for them for weeks!

The track is busy again, with many pilgrims ahead and behind us constantly. Because of this we resolved to start early again tomorrow. An early start means we are out ahead of the crowds, and that we may arrive at the cathedral tomorrow before it gets too busy.

Tomorrow. We arrive tomorrow. Over 780km walked in total. 1 million steps. 2500 push ups. A few tears, a lot of hugs and some amazing moments. And tomorrow our pilgrimage will end and we will meet Saint James in the Cathedral.

Sleep well pilgrims. One more march.
