Today was a shorter day travelling out of the Pyrenees and into our first major town - Pamplona - famous for the running of the bulls.

We were up as seems to be the norm around 6a.m. with breakfast (toast, coffee and orange juice) before hitting the trail. Despite how much it hurt last night we were glad to not have those few kilometres of hell to start our day! We made a better pace following a lovely track along the river with a few steep and treachourous downhills. The weather has turned a bit and it threatened rain all morning so we were prepared with ponchos and pack covers.

We continue to meet people who have joined into small groups, though our main two are:

The "socials" -Dave from glasgow, Andrew from Macclesfield (who turned up drunk at our accomodation at 9 last night), Lawrence from the US.

The "Rough Sleepers" - our friend Vince, a French girl called Julia, and the two Danish guys we only know as Sam and Frodo!

There are many small groups forming but people flit between depending on speed of walking and rest stops!

We made good pace not really stopping and went straight through Pamplona to our accomodation which is 2.5km into tomorrow's walk. The high point of the day was definately discovering the shower was a steam shower - I'll figure that one out later!!

A bus back to explore the city. We felt like he extra walk to town and back was not needed.

The cathedral here is stunning with glorious artwork and decorations and we had a walk round Pamplona including the famous street where the running of the bulls happens.

It's a short blog today. A burger and the steam shower are calling!!!
