The morning started with a lovely fresh breakfast in our accomodation. Casa puertas is a lovely little place run by a few cheerful ladies that make it very welcoming. The omeltte and the toast was great.
A lady from new zealand was so busy chatting she set her toast on fire. Then when she put some more in she was chatting again and got shouted at by everyone in the room. A little chuckle through the clouds of smoke.
Last night we had a great evening with a fantatsic monkfish paella and the sunset, flying the drone over the monastery and the rocks by the sea - this morning we set out alongside the same monastery and then up the coast.
It was hammering down with rain during breakfast, but the sun came out as we set of and we had the first hour or two along the coast with clear weather, though the clouds behind us were a constant threat.
After a short coffee and orange juice break, the raincoats came out just in time.
We stopped in a little craft shop with a local guy making stone momentos who told us to take the mountain path a little further along as it was much more scenic.
It was a much more beautiful path weaving up the hill and through the forests and despite the rain and clouds we both agreed we prefer the rugged woodland paths, to the concrete pavilions and coastal paths. May help decide on future caminos....
We passed Baiona the town most pilgrims stay in and arrived at our hotel in Sabaris.
Just in time.
The light rain became torrential downpours, the rain bouncing off the roads.
After a coffee and the biggest sloce of tortilla ever we decided to get a taxi the 3.5km to decathlon to buy ponchos. As despite owning plenty, neither of us actually carried one... oops.
Decathlon done and next door is an all you can eat sushi.... oh go on then....
Sleep well with bellies full of sashmi pilgrims!
