Day 7 - Tui to Mos - 26.9km

Today is the first day of the last 100km so we expected it to be a little bit busier. Therefore an early start and away was key with the idea to get a couple hours in before breakfast.

The accomodation was good last night, albergue with 4 beds all with their own light, power and curtain so a reasonable night sleep and away around 7.30. Excellent.

Until after 1.5km I realised that I had left my camera in the room! I left the bags with Mum and jogged back to get it, hidden behind the curtain. And extra 3km jog was not in the plan!!

The walk started out alright today with some paths by fields and through trees. We can tell its a little more touristy as there are stands offering stamps and small trinkets or food items and there are definately more pilgrims on the road.

We stopped at a little cafe for breakfast having a nice sandwich and fresh orange juice.

The way soon became duller with us returning to a high percent of tarmac. Its hard on the feet, and unremarkable.

We passed the 100km to go marker, though it was 99.8km to go which was a lottle anticlimactic but good to have come so far!

We met a girl who lives in Manchester, but is from lithunia and had a nice chat as we wandered through the woods. The conversation started around the local elections but its always best not to discuss politics or religion on the Camino!

There was an alternate route that was meant to be better than the industrial straight road, but didnt seem great for the first 5km! The last few at least followed the river and were much quieter.

We hardly took any photos or stops with the path being straight and mostly flat, but we did make excellent time arriving in Mos at around 2.30!

We did get overtaken by a lady walking the camino with her very young baby in a baby sling. Crazy!

We stopped at a bar for our celebratory end of walk beer then checked into our booked room

A little airbnb called surf loft. It was good to be there nice and early and have plenty of time to relax - and check out some of this years eurovision entries ready for next weekend!!

Dinner was steak, and pork loin chops at the local grill house. Though they only do charcoal grill on weekends so it wasnt quite what we had hoped for.

We had a quick chat with Georgie and Michael calling from France before bellys full, we retired to finish our bottle of wine and relax. A pleasant evening leaving us recovered for tomorrows big day to Pontevedra!!
